On Tuesday at Stade Marie-Marvingt, Paris Saint-Germain defeated Le Mans 0-2 in the last eight of the Coupe de France 2024-2025 (video highlights Le Mans/PSG). We then asked our readers, as they do after every match from now on, to vote for the best Parisian of the match. Désiré Doué (19-year-old midfielder/attacker) came out on top.
The victory came as no great surprise, given Doué’s interesting performance in creating chances and scoring the first goal in a match that was far from straightforward. All this without ever forgetting the team spirit, an essential point for coach Luis Enrique. Admittedly, the Parisians’ performance was not particularly satisfactory either collectively or individually.
The competition was rather light for Doué, with a goal that is bound to leave its mark. Willian Pacho (23-year-old defender) was very solid at the back in dangerous situations to keep PSG “calm”.
Khvicha Kvaratkshelia (23-year-old striker) had a somewhat mixed game2. He lost a few “avoidable” balls, and we can see that he’s still lacking some automatisms at PSG. But he could also add 1 or 2 assists to his tally with more effective team-mates. He rounds off the podium rather well. Although Matvey Safonov (25-year-old goalkeeper) was a strong contender.
We would like to thank you for your votes, which will henceforth be organized after each official match. We would also like to point out that the podiums from the player of the match elections will be used to elect the player of the month.
