Liverpool are Paris Saint-Germain’s opponents in the Champions League Round of 8, 2024-2025 (first leg on March 5 at the Parc des Princes, second leg on March 11), so we’re keeping an eye on their results. This Sunday, the Reds were on the road to face Manchester City in the Premier League, and came away with a 0-2 win.

This Sunday, leaders Liverpool were out in force at the home of the reigning English champions. With a 17-point lead going into the game, Liverpool, PSG’s next opponents in the Champions League, were in a position to wrap up the league. They made their domination even more official, to say the least.
Liverpool didn’t run riot in this match, but without forcing the issue, they overcame a sickly City side lacking in ideas. Despite dominating the statistics, Guardiola’s men lost. A match that PSG can use to their advantage. City had the ball, City took more shots on goal and City took “classic” Liverpool goals.
We’ll have to draw inspiration from that. We’ll have to gauge Liverpool’s defensive strength by being realistic, by forcing the weak side and Alexander Arnold. In midfield, we’ll have to be strong, because even though we didn’t take too many risks, Liverpool showed their strength in the middle. Finally, in attack, if the left side is scary with Luis Diaz, what can we say about the right side with Mo Salah, scorer/passenger for this match.
The advantage is that PSG know what’s going to happen, know their opponents’ strengths, and will need to approach excellence to make this confident team doubt.
