Liverpool manager Arne Slot was in the press conference after his team’s 3-1 victory over Southampton. He spoke about Tuesday’s match against Paris Saint-Germain in the second leg of the Champions League Round of 16. Clearly impressed by the intensity of the Parisians, he warned his players that they would have to do a lot more than they had done on Saturday to qualify.
I think PSG set a good example. They played Lille with incredible intensity, leading 4/0 at half-time, and then they played us. I’ve never seen that kind of intensity in any of our games this season.
When I look at the PSG game, we need to step it up a notch in terms of intensity. But if I compare today’s game, we need to go up three, four, five, six or seven notches in terms of intensity if we want to have any chance of qualifying for the next round.
