On Saturday, the Paris Saint-Germain and Lens women’s teams faced off at the Stade Bollaert on Matchday 1 of the 2025-2026 Arkéma Premier League. The match ended in a 1-1 draw (PSG/Paris FC video recap), a disappointing one for PSG, but a heroic one for the club, promoted for the first time in its history. However, the latter ultimately “gave away” the victory thanks to a huge error, as reported by La Voix du Nord.
Indeed, Louann Archier, who signed for Lens in the summer from Saint-Etienne, was suspended for an accumulation of yellow cards last season. This is an incredible situation in the top flight and one that was obviously hard to take for RCL CEO Benjamin Parrot, who spoke to the newspaper:

“This issue has extremely unpleasant and unfortunate external consequences. It will be addressed internally. It is unacceptable that a club like RC Lens finds itself in such a situation after a heroic match, in its first Premier League match.
Playing against a team like PSG, one of the best in Europe, managing to hold on, bringing more than 10,000 people behind us, with players connected to the deep values of Racing Club de Lens, turning everything around with their commitment, their virtues of surpassing themselves, reminding us that at Bollaert, anything can happen, and there’s this invalidation of the result that will arise, not just from a stuttering, but from a real administrative error…”
It’s a real failure for Lens and enough to anger, but the Lensois can only blame themselves. The rules are there, and it’s a small rescue for a PSG that had lacked efficiency. This should help them work calmly and move forward. Be careful, there will probably be no more gifts of this kind. We hope for Lens that these points won’t be something to regret at the end of the season. We must quickly recover from this disappointment.
