Paris Saint-Germain defeated Chelsea 3-0 (8-2 on aggregate, quarter-final to be played against Liverpool or Galatasaray) this Tuesday at Stamford Bridge in the second leg of their 2025-2026 Champions League Round of 16 tie. After this victory, PSG coach Luis Enrique spoke to Canal+.
Luis Enrique: “We did almost everything right.”
In France, we say “not even scared.” Did you expect to make such a difference?
We’re always looking for moments like this. That’s the beauty of football, and today we did almost everything right. We defended well, we attacked with the same ability we have. We’re very happy.
Luis Enrique: “We’re in the quarter-finals, and it’s well deserved.”
What will you be working on?
The result is one thing, it’s very positive for us. It’s not just the result itself, but that we managed to achieve it. I think we controlled the game, and that’s always difficult to do, because Chelsea needed to score a lot of goals.
I think we launched some very high-level counter-attacks, which created new problems for the opposition, and at times, we controlled the game well. We’re very happy; we’re in the quarter-finals, and it’s well deserved.
Luis Enrique: “We know what kind of team we are.”
Will these matches change the season?
It feels good when you play like this, when you play these kinds of matches. It’s very positive for our confidence; we know what kind of team we are, we know where we want to go. Today is very positive, and seeing our fans is great. As usual in Europe, they enjoy the matches.
