Paris Saint-Germain defeated Chelsea 3-0 (8-2 on aggregate, quarter-final to be played against Liverpool or Galatasaray) this Tuesday at Stamford Bridge in the second leg of their 2025-2026 Champions League Round of 16 tie. Following the victory, PSG coach Luis Enrique spoke to PSG TV.
Luis Enrique: “This is another victory we dedicate to our fans.”
“It feels good to win like this. We had talked about the difficulty of playing an away game after a result like the first leg, but we showed what level we’re capable of. We’re happy and we want to keep going.
The fans? It was a celebration, as always! Seeing our fans enjoying this match is wonderful and very positive for us. This is another victory we dedicate to our fans.”
A phenomenal performance from PSG left Chelsea with no chance, despite their determination to pull off an upset at home. After the 5-2 victory at the Parc des Princes, the Parisians, although in a favorable position, knew perfectly well that nothing was yet decided. They had to approach this second leg with seriousness and determination to secure their place in the quarterfinals, and that’s exactly what they did.
From the opening minutes, Luis Enrique’s men extinguished London’s hopes and put themselves in a comfortable position. A remarkable performance, therefore, that allows the capital club to continue its European journey. The message is also very clear for its rivals: yes, the defending champions remain a formidable team, capable of repeating the performance that put them on top of Europe last season.”
