This Saturday, as part of Matchday 13 of Ligue 1 2024-2025, Paris Saint-Germain (1st) take on Nantes (16th) at the Parc des Princes (kick-off 9pm, broadcast on DAZN). Jérémy Stinat (43) has been chosen to referee the match. He has a wealth of experience in Ligue 1, with 105 matches to his name.
He will be assisted by Christophe Mouysset and François Boudikian. Ahmed Taleb will be the 4th referee. Video assistance will be provided by François Letexier and Yann Flament.
Yellow cards –
With Mr. Stinat at the whistle, we can expect yellow cards to be handed out “easily” during the match. Indeed, while the national average per match is 3.53 (standard deviation 0.39), Saturday’s referee has given an average of 3.74 yellows per match throughout his career in Ligue 1 (Transfermarkt figures). Let’s hope he doesn’t forget about dialogue, but at least players should be protected from dangerous gestures.
Direct red cards –
The man on the whistle this Saturday is less severe when it comes to direct exclusions, as he has a low tendency when it comes to handing out direct red cards. In fact, Stinat has given out 0.14 exclusions per match in his career, whereas the national average per match is 0.17 (standard deviation 0.07). A warning rather than this penalty.
Second yellow cards –
Jérémy Stinat is not in the habit of sending off a player after his first yellow card in a match, as he has given a second warning to the same player an average of 0.08 times per match. This is a little lower than the national average of 0.09 (standard deviation 0.03). Nothing illogical, with many yellows but few reds. It’s just that he’s a little more “difficult” to exclude.
Penalties –
Finally, in terms of penalties, the man with the whistle on Saturday is higher than average, with 0.37 penalties whistled per match, compared with the Ligue 1 average of 0.34 (standard deviation 0.08).
