Maghnes Akliouche, the 24-year-old attacking midfielder/winger for AS Monaco (under contract until 2028) and the French national team, has been linked to Paris Saint-Germain during the 2026 summer transfer window. However, reaching an agreement with ASM appears difficult. L’Équipe reported on Tuesday that PSG had made a concrete proposal, but without success.

In recent days, the capital club submitted a new €45 million bid to persuade ASM to part with the French international (10 caps). This offer was once again rejected by the Monaco hierarchy, who remain determined not to let their player go for less than their asking price. Consequently, talks will continue.
The transfer is not dead; negotiations can still proceed. We should remain cautious, however, as nothing is concrete yet, and no certainties exist. Nevertheless, numerous media outlets confirm that PSG intends to move forward, given that an agreement with the player is already in place. An agreement between the clubs is now the missing piece.
A deal seems close, as there is talk of a €50 million price tag and an offer that is not far off that figure. However, we have seen deals stall over the difference of a few million—even when those figures were widely reported. Discussions behind the scenes can be more complex, involving factors such as whether or not to include various performance bonuses. Akliouche’s move to PSG remains a genuine possibility, with no immediate rush since French internationals are on holiday until around August 10. That said, another club could still capitalize on the time Paris is taking.
Unless the Parisian club actually has other priorities; the transfer market is known for surprises—especially when it comes to PSG.
