On Sunday at Roazhon Park, Paris Saint-Germain drew 2-2 against Rennes in the opening round of the 2026-2027 Ligue 1 season. As we will do after every match from now on, we asked our readers to vote for the best PSG player of the game. Ferran Torres (26-year-old forward) came out on top.

Torres’s win makes perfect sense; his introduction was decisive, and he made a strong impression with a brace that was a huge boost for the team. Beyond that, his work rate was outstanding, and he delivered some excellent passes.
It is good to see that Fabian Ruiz (30-year-old midfielder) hasn’t been overlooked. He proved valuable after coming on in midfield, and the two assists provided to his compatriot shouldn’t be underestimated. As for Désiré Doué (21-year-old midfielder/forward), he still somewhat divides opinion among supporters. While at times too individualistic and lacking end product, he also acted as a key spark for a PSG side that occasionally lacked inspiration.
One might have expected Zaïre-Emery (20-year-old midfielder) to make the top three given his excellent defensive work, but he likely paid the price for a lack of attacking success, despite having one of the biggest chances of the match.
In any case, thank you for your votes. As a reminder, the top three players from each match are used to determine the Player of the Month.
