SCO d’Angers hosted Paris Saint-Germain on Saturday evening for the 11th day of Ligue 1. The Parisians wanted to reassure themselves by rediscovering their effectiveness after their disillusioning attacking display against Atlético de Madrid. And it took just one half for the Rouge et Bleu to wrap up the match and find the back of the net with 4 goals (see video summary). The Angevins, for their part, refused to give up and took control of the second half, reducing the deficit by two goals at the very end of the match. 25-year-old SCO striker Ibrahima Niane spoke to DAZN about the match:
Ibrahima Niane: “We respected them too much in the first half”.
Angers won the second half, are you frustrated?
Yes, we respected them too much in the first half. We let them play too much, and at half-time the coach had a little talk and we got back into it a bit. We won the second half.
Is that the motivation and satisfaction of having held off PSG at one point in the match?
Yes, that’s right, they’re a big team and we were expecting a very complicated match.
