For months, the future of the Parc des Princes has been at the heart of debate and tension. Paris Saint-Germain would like to extend it, but does not want to finance everything without being the owner. Paris City Council, for its part, is reluctant to pay and sell. A few months ago, Parisian president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi decided to leave. We are now waiting to see where the club might play its matches in the future. Last night, it was announced that the site in Massy (91) had been chosen. But journalists Abdellah Boulma and Bruno Salomon (Ici Paris) have put the rumor to rest.
“As announced by AbdellaBoulma confirmation that nothing has been decided in the choice of a site for a future stadium for PSG. Studies are underway, but no decision has been made, so nothing has been finalized.”
Once again, there’s a new twist to this story. A number of sites were announced as favourites, or even near winners, then put aside. Without the slightest official confirmation. We must therefore remain cautious as long as the rumours continue.
We suspect that PSG is working very seriously on this project, and that the idea is to move forward, even though the work is likely to take several years. We mustn’t drag our feet, even though having a bigger stadium is a major step forward.
But we’ve got to be patient, there’s no choice yet, and we can see that the media are in the dark. We look forward to an official update.
