This has been the trend over the last few days, following a number of U-turns and a recent exploration in Côte d’Ivoire. The meeting would take place in early 2025, possibly on January 5.
The option of holding it in France has also been considered. This solution could come up again, should Doha also fail to deliver.
It’s a viable option, especially given the link between PSG and Qatar. It’s a way of promoting the club and Ligue 1. However, the LFP and Monaco also need to be convinced by the long journey.
Playing in France would also make a lot of sense for a French trophy, as it would mean less fatigue for the players. But we know that image is important and we need to get closer to other audiences to develop.
