This Sunday, during the 2026 Trophée des Champions, Paris Saint-Germain faced Lens at the Stade Bollaert. After a match where the Rouge et Bleu dominated but lacked clinical finishing, they lost 1–0. Here are our ratings for the Parisian players.
Goalkeeper –
Matvey Safonov (5) – A quiet match, aside from the goal, on which he could do little.
Defenders –
Achraf Hakimi (5.5) – You can tell he isn’t at his physical peak; his forward runs lack a bit of sharpness, and he is winning fewer defensive duels.
Ilya Zabarnyi (6.5) – A very solid performance from the Ukrainian, who effectively cut out several Lens transitions.
Willian Pacho (6.5) – A fairly quiet game; the Ecuadorian was never really troubled.
Lucas Digne (5.5) – Some promising forward runs, showing good technical quality. It is a shame his few crosses didn’t find a teammate. He was slow to react to Thauvin on the goal conceded, even though the play stemmed from a mishit shot rather than a cross. Replaced by Nuno Mendes in the 59th minute.
Midfielders –
Vitinha (5.5) – Still excellent on the ball at times, but he seems to lack a bit of freshness to dictate the game’s tempo. He could also be more daring in attack.
Lucas Beraldo (6) – Made some valuable ball recoveries and played a few nice passes; he needs to take more initiative. Replaced by Fabian Ruiz in the 59th minute.
Warren Zaïre-Emery (6.5) – Put in a huge shift winning back possession and keeping the ball moving quickly. As is often the case, he lacked that little something extra in the attacking third. Replaced by Dro Fernandez in the 81st minute.
Forwards –
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (6) – He created a lot and covered plenty of ground, though he lacked a bit of end product. He could have been played in on several occasions when he was in excellent positions. Replaced by Senny Mayulu in the 69th minute.
Maghnes Akliouche (6) – Already showing very promising movement and playing some lovely passes, all while pressing effectively when possession was lost. Hopefully, we will see him become increasingly incisive with the ball at his feet. At the very least, he doesn’t try to overcomplicate things. Replaced by Ousmane Dembélé in the 59th minute.
Désiré Doué (5.5) – Very good at times, but also some poor decision-making involving overly complicated attempts. That said, you do need to take risks to create chances against a low block.
Coach –
Luis Enrique (6) – His team dominated, and there were no injuries. However, they lacked that little something extra to secure the win—or even to pose a greater threat—while playing with a man advantage (11 vs. 10).
