The Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) has issued a press release to announce a change in the normal programming for a Ligue 1 weekend. This will be in place from this weekend, with Matchday 17.

“Starting with the 17th day of McDonald’s Ligue 1, the kick-off time for Saturday evening matches will be moved to 9:05pm to allow for better editorialization of pre-matches.

Decided in consultation with DAZN, this change will also apply to Friday evenings at 9:05pm, if a match is scheduled for 7pm.

Consequently, for days already scheduled, subsequent kick-offs will be shifted to 9:05 p.m.”

From now on, Saturday’s Ligue 1 matches will be at 9.05pm rather than 9.00pm, which seems to give the broadcaster more peace of mind. Nothing too serious for fans, although they may be missing out on 5 minutes’ sleep.
