The 2024-2025 winter mercato has arrived (throughout January), so the rumors surrounding Paris Saint-Germain are piling up. Today, journalist Pedro Almeida has confirmed that PSG are in talks with Cristiano Ronaldo, the 39-year-old Portuguese striker whose contract with Al-Nassr expires in June.
We’re always cautious when it comes to rumors, and that’s even more the case here with a player who doesn’t seem to fit in at all with the PSG project, and who has repeatedly criticized Ligue 1. Not least a few days ago.
Cristiano Ronaldo has been rumoured to be in Paris’ sights on numerous occasions, and this may well have made sense. It’s probably too late now. The striker, who turns 40 in February, was clearly not tempted by PSG. Which has certainly moved on to other things by now.
Soccer can be surprising, you never know. But the most likely outcome of this rumour is that there will be no follow-up, apart perhaps from a denial.
