Maghnes Akliouche, AS Monaco’s 22-year-old attacking midfielder, has been tipped by the media as one of Paris Saint-Germain’s targets for the 2024 summer mercato, but has extended his contract (from 2026 to 2028). However, PSG are still interested in his future. According to PSG Inside Actus on Friday, the Parisian club is even unanimously making him a priority.
“According to sources close to the club, a crucial meeting is scheduled between Paris Saint-Germain and Monaco officials to discuss his transfer there next season. (Not this winter).
What makes this situation particularly interesting is the unanimous agreement between PSG coach Luis Enrique and sporting director Luis Campos. PSG have made Akliouche one of their priorities for the summer mercato.
This meeting would take place during the Christmas vacations.
Other interested clubs:
AC Milan, FC Barcelona, Manchester United, Borussia Dortmund, Ajax Amsterdam.”
Not impossible, Akliouche is a very talented player and was already announced (notably by this media outlet) as being in PSG’s sights last summer. He fits in perfectly with the club’s project and coach Luis Enrique’s style of play.
Now, unfortunately, that’s not enough to be sure that Paris will be able to move forward with the dossier. There will undoubtedly be huge competition, including AS Monaco, who are not necessarily selling. Or maybe not. Not to mention the fact that the player may prefer another destination. PSG may also have other ideas.
There’s still a lot to happen, but this could well be one of the deals to watch over the coming months. It remains to be seen whether PSG will go through with it.
