Having arrived from Inter Milan in the summer of 2023, 29-year-old defender Milan Skriniar has yet to find his place at Paris Saint-Germain. His contract expires in June 2028, but already a departure seems likely as the Slovak international is no longer playing. This Wednesday, L’Equipe reports that the player will make his choice very shortly, and takes stock of his options.
A choice “within the next few hours”.
“Nothing is done yet, but the Milan Skriniar deal could be concluded by the end of the week. His representative has been in Paris over the last few days to push forward negotiations. The 29-year-old Slovak defender has decided to leave PSG and is due to decide on his new club in the next few hours.
Galatasaray, but not only.
Galatasaray have been the most insistent contenders for several weeks now. The former Inter man is keen on this option, as he would almost certainly be a first-team regular, but the dossier is not an easy one, not least because of his considerable salary.
According to English sources, Tottenham and Aston Villa are also interested. The Premier League is attracting the tall central defender. In Italy, the Slovakia captain is in talks with Napoli. But with the Serie A leaders, it is not certain that he will be a regular starter, and according to Italian media sources, Aurelio De Laurentiis’s club are not keen to include an option to buy, as PSG would like.
Skriniar’s departure from the capital this winter will be in the form of a loan, that’s for sure, but his employer would like to include an almost automatic, or at least easily attainable, purchase option.”
We remain cautious, as nothing has been done yet, and we know that the media can be a little hasty. The Skriniar dossier could well move forward, except that we have no guarantee of a choice. Let alone an agreement between the clubs.
Galatasaray is often mentioned, so we can assume that it’s not for nothing. But there has been no official confirmation. As for the other possibilities, they are being considered, but no concrete offer is certain.
For the time being, the situation remains unclear, not to mention the fact that PSG might want to hold on to the replacement before opening the door. We hope to have something concrete soon, but let’s wait and see if it’s confirmed.
