Vitinha, Paris Saint-Germain’s 24-year-old midfielder, spoke to Canal+ after the team’s 1-2 defeat to Atlético de Madrid on Wednesday at the Parc des Princes on Matchday 4 of the Champions League 2024-2025. He spoke of the frustrating setback and the complicated but not impossible task of qualifying for the next round.
Vitinha “it comes down to details.”
Where is Paris to blame?
We got into the game well and scored, but I think we got a goal through a little distraction. Then we didn’t find the best way to create chances and score.
We tried and we know that our objective was to win and win well, and we looked for it right up to the last minute. Unfortunately, we conceded a goal on our last chance, which is tough.
Vitinha: “We need to keep a cool head”.
Would things have been different with a real professional centre-forward in the box?
You never know, we’ve got to improve, we’ve got to keep our heads. We had chances and once again we didn’t score, and it’s hard to take a goal like that.
Is Paris really up to the level of this Champions League?
We’ve got the level, we’ve still got 4 games to go and we’re going to do everything we can to get through.
