This Friday, January 2nd, the French press (focusing on the sporting side) concentrated on Paris Saint-Germain and the new opportunities coming up for Lucas Chevalier (the 24-year-old goalkeeper), with the need to prove himself and the transfer window plan.
Le Parisien –

L’Equipe –
Nothing on PSG.
A starter for almost the entire beginning of the season, Chevalier had to give way to Matvey Safonov (26 years old) at the end of the year due to an ankle injury. The Russian took advantage of this to showcase his impressive qualities, creating doubt within the pecking order (at least from the outside). Now, Safonov is also injured (in the hand), so Chevalier should be back in the starting lineup for the upcoming matches. He must use these moments to demonstrate that he is adapting well and that the competition is pushing him. It’s a pressure he will have to manage.
As for the transfer window, there are no surprises. PSG is well-equipped and has repeatedly stated that it has no particular plans to recruit or sell. It is simply attentive to opportunities. Some movement cannot be ruled out, but it would be rather surprising. We will undoubtedly still see rumors, especially as the summer season approaches. There is already talk of some talented players in Portugal. Nothing is certain, of course.
