This Saturday, as part of the 8th day of Ligue 1 2024-2025, Paris Saint-Germain faced Strasbourg at the Parc des Princes. After a match in which the Rouge et Bleu played a good game and won 4-2 (PSG/Strasbourg video highlights). Here are our notes on the Parisians.

Contents
Goalkeeper –Defenders –Midfielders –Forwards –Coach –

Goalkeeper –

Gianluigi Donnarumma (5.5) – A trouble-free first half. He took one goal, but he couldn’t do much about it. The second was another corner situation. He’s not imperious, even if it’s complicated to intervene.

Defenders –

Warren Zaïre-Emery (7) – Very present, he took on Hakimi’s role. Compensated a lot defensively. He seems to lack a bit of physicality at the moment, especially in his percussion, but he didn’t let his opponents down in a high-intensity first half. He held his own in the second half. Offensively, he’s gone from strength to strength.

Milan Skriniar (5.5) – A good first half for him. We felt he was suffering with his speed in the second half.

Wilian Pacho (6) – He’s still got that one-on-one feel, even if at times the opposition managed to get past him. He needs to do a better job of being the first or last to recover. But you can tell he’s ready to do anything to stop attackers, and that’s reassuring.

Lucas Beraldo (6) – A decent first half defensively. Offensively, he didn’t get forward, but his quality in the rebound was evident. However, he made a mistake when he missed an overhead pass. He needs to continue working in this area.

Midfielders –

Vitinha (6) – He did a lot of running in the first half, but still doesn’t seem to be at 100%. He’s often a few thousandths of a second late, but at the highest level, that counts for something. In spite of this, he makes up for it with a high level of technical quality and a fine sense of positioning.

Joao Neves (6.5) – As aggressive as ever, but perhaps a little lacking in his attacking role in the first half. He stepped up a gear and we saw more of him. Not an unforgettable match, but he’s gaining experience.

Désiré Doué (6) – Some good phases (better than we’ve seen since the start of the season), but also some poor choices and that slightly “crazy, uncontrolled” side that can be off-putting. On the other hand, when it comes to percussion, he has managed two or three well-felt thrusts. He’s still holding back, but he played a large part of the match, which will do him good.

Forwards –

Senny Mayulu (7) – Striker, active, he also had a bit of garbage, but he showed his worth. He’s got great qualities, but he still needs to gain experience to maintain his rigor at all times, both individually and technically. He did miss two great chances in this match, so he needs to improve on that, but it’s very encouraging all the same. Replaced by Fabian Ruiz in the 65th minute.

Marco Asensio (5.5) – A “passable” first half for him. Scored one of the only really noteworthy goals of the game. Replaced in the 58th minute by Lee Kang-in.

Bradley Barcola ( 7) – A danger to his opponents, even if technically he sometimes seems to stutter. A little more control would be welcome. He scores, he hurts, defenders have a hard time against him at the end of the game. With more accuracy, he could score even more goals. Replaced by Ibrahim Mbaye in the 82nd minute.

Coach –

Luis Enrique (6) – A mixed team, he manages game time as he promised. In the first half, he succeeded in his gamble, then his team took the lead and had the best chances without conceding any. However, technically speaking, some of his understudies still have some work to do. He even turned the ball around in the match, and the victory is there, the goals are there. Of course, nothing is perfect after this match. There’s still a lot of work to be done.
