Vitinha, the 26-year-old Paris Saint-Germain midfielder, spoke to TNT Sports during Media Day to discuss the 2025-2026 Champions League final against Arsenal on Saturday, May 30. The Portuguese player was asked to compare his team to last season’s squad and then to discuss a possible “advantage” after eliminating the Gunners in the semi-finals just over a year ago.
Vitinha: “It’s difficult to assess which team is the best.”
Do you think the team is stronger than last season’s?
It’s difficult to say (smiles). We’re almost the same players, it’s the same coach, with the same philosophy. So, it’s difficult to assess which team is the best. But I would say they are both strong teams.
Vitinha: “We will be ready, we have to be.”
You beat Arsenal in the semi-finals last season, does that give you an advantage?
I don’t think so. A Champions League final is a Champions League final. Last season, we also played them in the group stage (a 1-0 defeat), before knocking them out in the semi-finals. So, I don’t think so.
Last season, as I said, was last season. It’s different. It’s just one match, it’s the Champions League final. We’ll be ready, we have to be.
