This Friday, for Matchday 25 of the 2025-2026 Ligue 1 season, Paris Saint-Germain (1st) faces Monaco (7th) at the Parc des Princes (kick-off at 8:45 PM, CET). Ahead of this match, the press has been trying to predict the starting lineup that Parisian coach Luis Enrique will field.
Le Parisien (4-3-3) –
Kvaratskhelia – Barcola – Doué
Lee – Vitinha – Zaïre-Emery
Mendes – Pacho – Marquinhos – Hakimi
Safonov.
L’Equipe (4-3-3) –
Kvaratskhelia – Barcola – Doué
Zaïre-Emery – Vitinha – Lee
Mendes – Pacho – Marquinhos – Hakimi
Safonov.
It’s difficult to be certain about this match, as always with Luis Enrique. He doesn’t give any information to the press and has fostered competition within his squad, while also developing player versatility and fluidity in their roles.
This opens the door to several options. Here, some rotation is conceivable to manage fitness and ensure everyone gets playing time. The Champions League is already back, with the first leg of the round of 16 against Chelsea on Wednesday (return leg on March 17). The best formula for the squad needs to be found, while still delivering a strong performance tonight.
AS Monaco is an opponent to be taken very seriously, especially since the Ligue 1 title race is far from over. We’ll wait for the official lineup announcement (approximately one hour before the match) to be sure of the starting eleven PSG will field. But these proposed lineups (they’re the same except for the positioning of Zaïre-Emery and Lee) make sense given the absences and returns to manage.
Notably, Barcola at number 9, something we saw at times during the second leg of the playoff against Monaco, and it was interesting. The striker confirmed his potential last Saturday against Le Havre; he just needs to find another way to do it. All while keeping Doué and Kvaratskhelia on the wings, where they seem more comfortable.
