This Saturday at 5 p.m. (CET), Paris Saint-Germain (1st) faces Nice (8th) at the Parc des Princes for Matchday 11 of the 2025-2026 Ligue 1 season. In a press conference, Nice coach Franck Haise spoke about the upcoming match and their Parisian opponent. He didn’t hide the fact that it’s a “bonus” match, even though he’s hopeful. The coach also highlighted the quality of the work being done by his Parisian counterpart, Luis Enrique, and his staff.
Haise: “To win at the Parc des Princes, everything has to fall into place.”
“You won in Paris in April against a very strong PSG (3-1). Are you expecting a very different match?”
“We were dominated, as is often the case with teams that play against PSG. They are a very high-level team.” There should be a lot of rotation in their team this time, with many changes, before the match against Bayern.
We know we’ll have to be very solid to give them as little as possible; everyone will have to give 100%, and we’ll need to make some good saves and be clinical. To win at the Parc des Princes, everything has to come together.
Haise: “It’s always a bonus match to go to the Parc des Princes; we have everything to gain.”
This match at the Parc des Princes comes after a very good run against Monaco, Lyon, Rennes, and Lille: can it be considered a bonus match?
Generally speaking, it’s always a bonus match to go to the Parc des Princes; we have everything to gain. So, we’re going there with the 10 points we just picked up, which weren’t really expected, neither by you nor by me, but which the players went out and earned.
It’s always a pleasure to face the best team in France and the best team in Europe, and to know that we’re going there with a mindset… I wouldn’t say a “relaxed” mindset, because it’s not like we’re going there on a weekend, but certainly with the mindset that we just have to play the best match possible. We know very well that we’re not going to dominate Paris and that we won’t have fifteen scoring opportunities, but that doesn’t prevent us from getting results.
Haise: “They’re doing an admirable job.”
Does a more vulnerable Paris side change the preparation?
They’re playing a lot of matches in quick succession. They’re a team that has had an exceptional year, and the players have given so much. And naturally, for teams of this caliber, it’s so special. They’re doing an admirable job, Luis Enrique of course, but the entire staff as well. What they’ve been going through for the past month and a half, they never stop, with all the international players they have. “It’s a very different and complicated year for them to manage, and they’re handling it very well,” a statement relayed by L’Equipe.
Haise isn’t under any illusions; his team will be under pressure for at least a good part of the match. It’s best to accept this and focus on preparing to “suffer” properly and hurt PSG when the opportunity arises. It would be “risky” to devise a plan where Nice dominates possession, especially since that hasn’t been their style in recent Ligue 1 matches.
It’s worth noting that the Nice coach expects a “heavy rotation,” which is less certain. Rotation has already been well underway recently, notably in Lorient. Paris also needs to regain its rhythm, confidence, and points. This must be done while respecting Nice, a good team that has become accustomed to winning at the Parc des Princes. Luis Enrique has emphasized this; it has to change.
The latter will appreciate Haise’s very positive comments at a time when some “experts” and fans are once again tempted to criticize or dramatize the situation. This is due to a few injuries and an inconsistency that everyone could have foreseen at the start of the season. Above all, it should be emphasized, as Haise did, that PSG is doing very well.
