As part of Matchday 15 of Ligue 1, Paris Saint-Germain won against Stade Rennais 5–0 at the Parc des Princes. Speaking to PSG TV, Warren Zaïre-Emery, the 19-year-old Parisian midfielder, reflected on the victory.
Zaïre-Emery: “Our goal is not to be second, but to be first.”
“I really enjoyed this evening. It’s a good win, we needed it. I’m very happy with the team, we played a good match, and we’ll prepare well this week to go into the Champions League on Wednesday. Our goal is not to be second but to be first, so we’ll keep working to try to win matches and move ahead.
It’s the 25th anniversary of PSG for Communities, so I’m very happy. There were children here, and I had great moments with them when I did the community cafeteria. I’m very proud to be the new ambassador, and if I have to do it again, I’ll do it as many times as needed.”
There’s nothing more effective for PSG than preparing their Champions League week with a solid league victory. Against Rennes, who are nonetheless a high-level opponent, the Parisians did not hold back.
Extremely sharp offensively, they quickly took the lead before widening the gap. A fine win that allows them to reclaim the top spot after Monaco and Olympique de Marseille both lost. They must now turn their focus to the Champions League and the match against Athletic Bilbao this Wednesday at 9 p.m.
