This Saturday, as part of the 25th day of Ligue 1 2024-2025, Paris Saint-Germain faced Rennes at Roazhon Park. After a match in which the Rouge et Bleu clearly didn’t play a great game, they won 1-4 (video highlights Rennes/PSG). Here are our notes on the Parisians.
Goalkeeper –
Matvey Safonov (7) – Crucified from close range, he had little to do with Rennes’ goal. He was present at key moments.
Defenders –
Warren Zaïre-Emery (4) – An average game from him. He’s slowly coming back.
Lucas Beraldo (2) – Constantly caught out, he never gave up, but was always too short. Average in the restart this afternoon. He clearly didn’t reassure, and this match didn’t do him any favours.
Willian Pacho (5) – Solid, but more complicated without Marquinhos. Did the job overall.
Lucas Hernandez (4) – He’s still feeling a bit thin physically. He made up for it for a while by being very aggressive, but he’s far from 100%. Replaced by Nuno Mendes in the 64th minute.
Midfielders –
Senny Mayulu (5) – Had a good game, but still lacks the physicality to fight in all circumstances. Still, he’s got a good base to build on.
Joao Neves (6) – He’s everywhere. He had a good game, defending well as always. We sometimes expect him to be a little more attacking. He’s a young player. Replaced by Vitinha in the 64th minute.
Désiré Doué (4) – A fine first half, some inspiration, but gradually disappeared from the scene.
Forwards –
Lee Kang-in (5) – Still very good technically, but not making any notable differences. He remains a little too predictable and seems to be reaching a glass ceiling. Replaced by Kvhicha Kvratskhelia in the 64th minute.
Gonçalo Ramos (6) – Scorer, very good at pressing, should have scored at least a second goal. Sometimes a little too “easy”, but still decisive, which is appreciated. Replaced by Ousmane Dembélé in the 64th minute.
Bradley Barcola (7) – Surely Paris’ best player in the first half, he’s capable of making big differences, scoring and making an assist again. Replaced by Achraf Hakimi in the 74th minute.
Coach –
Luis Enrique (6) – Although not entirely convinced by his men’s performance, he did put in a good shift and his objective was surely to prepare Liverpool.
