Having arrived in the 2023 summer mercato from Inter Milan, 30-year-old defender Milan Skriniar has not made the move to Paris Saint-Germain. His contract expires in June 2028, and he has been loaned out to Fenerbahçe for the second half of the 2024-2025 season. He has bounced back well and there is now talk of a permanent move to the Turkish club this summer. This Wednesday, L’Equipe reports that everything is finally settled between the clubs.
“Milan Skriniar, 30, under contract until 2028 with the capital club, is expected in the next few hours in Istanbul to undergo his medical and sign his contract with Fenerbahçe. PSG and the Turkish club have finalized their agreement for a transfer estimated at €10m.”
We remain cautious, as we’ve already seen an agreement announced several times in this dossier without any subsequent confirmation. But it does make sense for PSG and Fenerbahçe to finally reach an agreement, when the transfer already seemed almost certain at the start of the mercato.
It’s time to get down to business, as the season is fast approaching. Paris should be able to offload this high salary for a player who has failed to establish himself in the team. It’s actually a rather good sale, given the situation, and even more so for a player who has become a free agent. Let’s hope the good news will be confirmed in the coming hours this time.
