Having arrived in the 2023 summer mercato from Inter Milan, 30-year-old defender Milan Skriniar has not made the move to Paris Saint-Germain. His contract expires in June 2028, and he has been loaned out to Fenerbahçe for the second half of the 2024-2025 season. He has bounced back well and there is now talk of a permanent move to the Turkish club this summer. This Thursday, Marc Mechenoua (Le Parisien) reports that the two clubs are far from an agreement.
“Talks between PSG and Fenerbahçe are at a standstill for Milan Skriniar. Paris is asking €20m for the defender. An amount too high for the Turkish club, which is prepared to pay the player’s salary (€10m net). No offer has been made.“
Lately, optimism has been the order of the day. Skriniar has an agreement with Fenerbahçe, and one with PSG seemed close, for around 12 million euros. The situation here is very different.
It’s hard to see clearly and it’s a nasty surprise, just when we were hoping that this dossier would soon be blocked. Today, there’s doubt, and we’ve already seen transfers never come to fruition where there had been hope.
Skriniar’s departure for Fenerbahçe remains a possibility, but will require efforts from both clubs. It’s not going to be easy, so let’s wait and see what happens. Other outcomes remain possible.
