On Tuesday at the Stade Marie-Marvingt, Paris Saint-Germain beat Le Mans 0-2 (video highlights Le Mans/PSG) in the last 8 of the Coupe de France 2024-2025. Here are the scores awarded by Le Parisien to the capital’s players. There are 13 players, as there were 2 changes at half-time. And there’s no L’Equipe, perhaps because it’s a National club opposite.
Le Parisien :
Kvaratskhelia (4,5) – Ramos (3,5) – Doué (5,5)
Mayulu (4) – Ruiz (4) – Lee (4)
Hernandez (5) – Pacho (5,5) – Beraldo (4) – Zague (3)
Safonov (5,5)
Nuno Mendes (6)
Achraf Hakimi (5)
The Parisian average is very low, with only 4 first-teamers having at least the average, and we can see that the substitutes have done some good. But they weren’t brilliant either. You’d almost think PSG had been knocked out of the Coupe de France by the end of this match.
And yet, they did qualify without any major scares, even if Le Mans did have a few chances. Particularly at 0-2. It’s clear that Paris had a lot to do with management, as well as some poor choices and failed moves offensively that prevented them from bringing the game to a close.
The pitch was not conducive to technical precision, and the Parisians were perhaps a little too demanding, as they play every 3 days and can’t always be masterful. But we can’t say that this match was particularly satisfying. At least the victory was there, and that’s always good to take. Especially when we’ve seen so many Ligue 1 clubs go down this season.
