Luis Enrique, coach of Paris Saint-Germain, spoke to Canal+ after the 0-1 defeat to Liverpool (video highlights PSG/Liverpool) at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday in the Champions League Round of 16. He reminded us that soccer is unfair and that we need to score goals. He has no intention of surrendering before the second leg.

Luis Enrique “It’s very unfair. Very unfair.”

How do you feel about it? Do you think it’s very cruel?

It’s very unfair. Very unfair. It was a very complete match on our part. It’s the most complete game we’ve played in the Champions League. In the first half, the Expected Goals were largely in our favor. They came on once and scored. Their best player was their goalkeeper. It’s a bit strange, but I feel very proud of my team, the players and the fans. But soccer is sometimes unfair, you have to score and we’re going to take this in a positive way and play a good game in Liverpool.

What’s your take on the potential foul on Barcola?

I don’t comment. No, I never comment on actions. We at Paris Saint-Germain think one way, and Liverpool think another.

How do you explain that?

There’s nothing to explain because we were much better than Liverpool. Their best player was the goalkeeper and we were really better than them. If you want to see the negative, I don’t. I’m very, very proud of my team. There’s still one last game against Liverpool and we’re not going to surrender.
