Paris Saint-Germain face Arsenal in the Champions League semi-finals on Tuesday April 29 (Emirates Stadium) and Wednesday May 7 (Parc des Princes). We wondered whether there would be a request to postpone the trip to Strasbourg (Ligue 1 matchday 32) on the weekend between the two legs. RMC Sport gave the answer on Thursday.
“PSG have not requested a postponement of their match at Strasbourg, which is sandwiched between the two Champions League semi-finals against Arsenal. The match of the 32nd day of Ligue 1 will take place on the weekend of May 4.”
PSG won’t be looking to change the schedule, and that’s probably just as well. The postponement of the trip to Nantes between the quarter-finals against Aston Villa has caused a lot of grumbling in France and has not had any obvious benefit.
It’s better to make the best of the situation and get on with it. Especially as the Parisians, already champions, won’t be under any pressure in Strasbourg. Not to mention the difficulty of scheduling a match so close to the end of the season.
