Having arrived at the summer mercato in July 2023 from Mallorca, Lee Kang-In, the 23-year-old Korean midfielder, is under contract at Paris Saint-Germain until June 2028, and is playing more in the 2024-2025 season than in his irregular first season. But that’s not quite convincing everyone, which is attracting rumors around the mercato. This Tuesday, journalist Matteo Moretto (Relevo) assures us that a transfer is getting closer, with several clubs interested.
“Several clubs are paying close attention.
“Negotiations to renew Lee Kang-in’s contract with Paris Saint-Germain are at a standstill, and the Korean could become one of the names in the summer transfer window.
Several clubs are keeping a close eye on his situation, although none of them have yet reached an agreement with PSG.
Napoli, teams from the Premier League, Spain and Arabia are all keeping an eye on him.”
It’s completely credible, and he’s a relatively reliable journalist, but we’re always cautious when it’s just a rumor. It’s quite conceivable that PSG will open the door for Lee, who didn’t play in Saturday’s 3-0 Coupe de France final against Reims. Just as the player may aspire to a more important role at another club.
But this also makes the announcement a little “easy”, when we know that soccer can surprise and move very quickly. In any case, we need a clearer way out before we have any concrete leads. And let’s not forget a possible price, for which the agreement won’t necessarily be simple.
Lee will undoubtedly be one of the players mentioned in the summer rumours, so let’s wait and see what happens.
