On Wednesday, in a rescheduled match from Matchday 29 of the 2025-2026 Ligue 1 season, Paris Saint-Germain faced Lens at the Stade Bollaert and won 2-0 (video highlights here). Speaking to PSG TV, Luis Enrique, the club’s coach, reflected on the result and the new French league title.
Luis Enrique: “We have to enjoy this moment.”
“It’s an important victory, partly because it’s not a fair result for Lens, because they deserved better. But we’ve shown once again the level and ambition needed to manage the end of the season. We’re happy because it’s the most difficult of the three titles. Lens had a very good season. Next season, we’ll both be Champions League teams. We have to enjoy this moment.”
A victory and, above all, a title secured for PSG, who are the new French champions for the 2025/2026 season. Even though the match wasn’t easy or pretty, PSG secured the essential victory against their closest rivals. What better way to clinch the title than by defeating your closest competitor?
Obviously, we must have immense respect for RC Lens, both for their performance on Wednesday and for their season so far. For their part, PSG, who can once again achieve the Champions League/League double, have already secured this title, demonstrating their consistency despite numerous difficulties throughout the season.
A relief and a joy to savor before focusing on the biggest match of 2026: the final in Budapest against Arsenal on May 30th.
