This Tuesday, Paris Saint-Germain (25th) take on Bayern Munich (17th) at the Allianz Arena for Matchday 5 of the 2024-2025 Champions League (kick-off 9pm, broadcast on Canal+Foot). Paris coach Luis Enrique must choose his starting 11, taking into account the opponent, upcoming matches and suspension risks, after having formed the Parisian squad for this match.
PSG played Toulouse last Friday and host Nantes on Saturday, but Ligue 1 matters little (if at all) when it comes to playing such a match. Not only because it’s the Champions League, it’s also a historic “cador”.
Above all, 25th out of 36, Paris needs points to avoid being in danger. So Luis Enrique’s thinking should be clear: field the best team in order to win against a Bayern team in 17th position, so not invincible and also under pressure.
We’ll need a great performance, with some good play and, this time, some efficiency. It remains to be seen what the outcome of the Parisian coach’s analysis of his squad will be, as well as the strengths and weaknesses of his opponents. Until then, all we can do is make an attempt.
