As happens after every round of matches, L’Équipe has named its Team of the Week for Matchday 3 of the 2026-2027 Ligue 1 season, which took place this weekend (results and standings available here). Following their 2-1 defeat to Monaco at the Parc des Princes, Paris Saint-Germain saw none of their players selected.
It comes as no surprise; PSG lost, and we know it takes much more than that to impress. It matters little that the Parisians heavily dominated the match against AS Monaco—that is not what counts. Standards are incredibly high, both collectively and individually.
At the same time, other Ligue 1 players delivered outstanding performances worthy of recognition. It is important to highlight the quality present in this league—and not just in defense, as evidenced by the high number of goals scored during this round (30).
