This Saturday, Paris Saint-Germain (1st) take on Montpellier (18th) at the Stade de la Mosson for the 33rd day of Ligue 1 2024-2025 (kick-off 9pm, CET). Prior to training this Friday, on the eve of the match, the club issued a press release announcing that several key players will be rested.
In agreement with the sporting directors and technical staff, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Achraf Hakimi, Marquinhos, Nuno Mendes, Willian Pacho, Fabian Ruiz and Vitinha have been rested. They will resume collective training next Wednesday.
There’s no big surprise here, as PSG are coming off the back of an intense Champions League semi-final second leg against Arsenal. That was on Wednesday, leaving little time for rest and recuperation.
Several players will therefore be rested and avoid the trip, while others will certainly be on the bench. A certain amount of rotation is expected this Saturday in Montpellier, despite the fact that the championship title has been secured for some time. Montpellier, for their part, are certain to finish in last place.
