This Saturday at 9pm (broadcast on DAZN) Paris Saint-Germain (1st) take on Nantes (16th) at the Parc des Princes as part of the 13th day of Ligue 1 2024-2025. A ministerial order has been issued prohibiting Nantes supporters from travelling to the venue.
“The Ministry of the Interior does not want Nantes supporters at the Parc des Princes”.
“The Ministry of the Interior does not want Nantes supporters at the Parc des Princes. On Friday, Place Beauvau issued a ministerial order banning FC Nantes supporters from traveling to Paris for the Ligue 1 match between PSG and the Canaries on Saturday evening (9pm).
The decision, taken on Wednesday, follows the incidents that broke out in the Loire tribune on Sunday, leading to the half-hour stoppage of the match between Nantes and Le Havre. According to the authorities, over 1,000 Nantes fans were expected to support their team, 16th in Ligue 1, at the leader’s home ground. ”
It’s a decision that’s enduring in the world of soccer. It’s getting harder and harder to get fans to travel, or at least to take them on a trip as part of the sport.
It’s a shame for Nantes, but the sanction also comes after a real security problem at La Beaujoire, so the Canaris will have to make do without.
Decisions have to be taken, but perhaps it’s also time to look for non-punitive solutions for the majority of fans who respect the established framework and are only too happy to support their team.
We hope that one day there will be a real dialogue, as the stalemate has been going on for some time.
