Arriving in the summer transfer window of July 2023 from Mallorca, 24-year-old South Korean midfielder/winger Lee Kang-In is under contract with Paris Saint-Germain until June 2028. He has shown flashes of quality but has struggled to fully establish himself, and a departure during this transfer window is now being considered. Today, PSG Inside Actus reports that Arsenal are showing interest.
PSG ready to ask for €40 million?
“The South Korean attacking midfielder, capable of playing in several positions across the front line, has particularly caught the eye of Mikel Arteta, who is looking for this type of versatile profile to strengthen his squad. The arrival of sporting director Andrea Berta has also revived the matter: already an admirer of Lee during his time at Mallorca, the Italian is pushing for a move this summer.
If the London club decides to act, Paris Saint-Germain have no intention of letting him go cheaply. Signed for around €22 million, the capital club hopes at least to recover its investment… and some directors would even demand between €40–45 million to open the door to a departure.
Faced with a price tag deemed excessive, Arsenal are reportedly considering a different approach: a loan deal with an option to buy, a formula that would allow them to test the player in the Premier League before committing to a significant fee.”
Nothing is impossible, nor is anything certain at this point. It remains a rumor, and as always in the transfer market, concrete steps are needed before any certainty. As the outlet itself often reminds, interest does not necessarily mean a transfer will follow. It requires inquiries, a potential offer, and an agreement—which could be complicated here.
Still, Lee possesses real qualities and could attract major clubs. A major financial effort, however, would be more surprising. We’ll have to wait and see. The Korean could just as well remain at PSG.
