Marquinhos, the 32-year-old Paris Saint-Germain central defender and captain, spoke at a press conference this Tuesday ahead of the match against Slovan Bratislava at the Parc des Princes tomorrow (kick-off at 9 PM, CET) as part of Matchday 1 of the 2026–2027 Champions League. On the sidelines of the event, the Brazilian also spoke to PSG TV.
Marquinhos: “What we’ve done in the past is history.”
What is the squad’s mindset?
We are highly motivated; the competition is finally getting underway. It’s a new competition. What we’ve done in the past is history. We know just how important the Champions League is, and we’re going to give it our all to get off to a good start.
How important is it to have the fans there?
Yes, we missed having them at the Parc last time, so it’s great to have them with us. These are special nights for us at the Parc. I think we’ll play a good match tomorrow and win; we know that every point counts.
