Paris Saint-Germain travelled to the Stade Louis II on Wednesday to take on AS Monaco in the early match of Ligue 1 matchday 16. The Parisians put in a great performance, winning 2-4 despite a number of contentious incidents. ASM defender Vanderson spoke to beIN SPORTS about the clash between the leaders and runners-up, which was won by the Parisians:
Vanderson: “We were up against a great team with great players”.
You’re 10 points behind?
Yes, they got that win. We’re going to try to pick up points in every game so we can get to the end of the championship with the objectives we want. We tried to impose our style of play, but we were up against a great team with great players.
I think we’re on the right track, we’ve done some good things and we need to keep that in mind. So in the next few games we’re going to try to do as well as we can.
Was it a great match for you?
Yes, I had a good game. It was a tough one. After a defeat it’s always difficult to say whether we played a good game or not. But as I said, we’re going to try and impose our game.
The players are playing in positions that are unusual to see. But we’ve tried to improve to reach our objectives. We’re in the middle of the championship and we’ll come back stronger. The difference is going to get smaller.
