This Wednesday, in a rescheduled match from Matchday 29 of the 2025-2026 Ligue 1 season, Paris Saint-Germain faced Lens at the Stade Bollaert. After a match where the Red and Blues played too casually, they still managed a 2-0 victory. Here are our player ratings for the Parisians.
Goalkeeper –
Matvey Safonov (9) – A great match from him. Full of confidence, he frustrated the Lens players.
Defenders –
Senny Mayulu (5) – Fairly neutral defensively, he contributed less offensively than usual. He nevertheless held his own in a role he’s not yet fully familiar with.
Lucas Beraldo (3) – In defense, he lacks aggression. Often passive, he is beaten by the opposition’s speed. He is better with the ball or in front of the defense.
Ilya Zabarnyi (4) – Quite solid in stretches, he still lacks pace. He did, however, seem fairly comfortable in duels. He struggled towards the end of the match.
Lucas Hernandez (4) – He wasn’t “bad,” but he offered less than his competitors. Defensively, he did his job, but offensively, PSG lost a key player compared to their usual standards. Substituted by Fabian Ruiz in the 60th minute.
Midfielders –
Joao Neves (5.5) – The Swiss Army knife (like others) of this team, he can do everything. He never gives up. Substituted in the 76th minute by Dimitri Lucea.
Dro Fernandez (5) – We need to distinguish between Dro with the ball and without the ball. Better yet, we need to distinguish between Dro in duels and Dro in team play. He knows how to make runs, delivers beautiful passes, and his technical ability is an asset, but he doesn’t win duels and is easily outmuscled.
Désiré Doué (3) – A rather disappointing match. He did manage an assist late in the game, though.
Forwards –
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (5) – A goal, some activity, but we didn’t see the great Kvaratskhelia of recent weeks. Substituted in the 72nd minute by Gonçalo Ramos.
Ousmane Dembélé (5.5) – He was a valuable asset dropping deep; he’s a technical asset for his team, but like others, he wasn’t outstanding in this match. Substituted in the 76th minute by Ibrahim Mbaye.
Bradley Barcola (3) – He’s clearly not in the best form of his life. A lot of technical errors, few opportunities where he was truly involved. He lacked sharpness and ball control. Replaced by Vitinha at halftime (5) – he didn’t make a significant difference to PSG’s game. He balances the midfield a little, but his mind is elsewhere.
Coach –
Luis Enrique (6) – A key figure in PSG’s title win, he once again demonstrated his excellent squad management. He knows that the next challenge is the Champions League. He also knows that his team must remain focused, but he understands that there has been a natural lapse in concentration.
