On Matchday 13 of Ligue 1 2024-2025, Paris Saint-Germain drew 1-1 with Nantes at the Parc des Princes (PSG/Nantes video summary). The result still puts them ahead of 2nd-placed Nantes, who have changed their identity.

PSG and Lille miss out.

It’s not something to celebrate, but it’s not insignificant, as PSG’s draw with Nantes increased their lead from 6 to 7 points. This somewhat “limits” the disappointment of sharing the points with the current 17th-placed team. But it’s still a counter-performance, with yet another terrible inefficiency.

The big game of the day was Sunday evening’s match between OM and Monaco, with the Marseillais fearful of stalling again at home when trailing 0-1. But they finally broke the negative cycle and picked up a fine victory, which will boost their confidence.

Lyon’s home win over Nice (4-1) was another good move, putting them ahead of the pack and confirming their place as a genuine contender for Europe this season. Lille, on the other hand, missed out at Montpellier, while the 18th-placed team picked up a point that could do them some good.

Further down the race for Europe, Lens got back on track (following their 1-3 defeat by OM) with a fine 0-2 win at Reims against a direct rival.

Rennes back on track.

As for their chances of staying up, Rennes reassured themselves in style under coach Jorge Sampaoli with a 5-0 win over Saint-Etienne, who took a blow to the head in what was a good period.

Angers were also able to help themselves with a 0-1 win at Le Havre, although there is of course still a long way to go to maintain their position in a very tight league table. But it’s good to be out of the red zone for a while.
