Here’s our series. The 5 good reasons to watch a match (with some adjustments here and there). We’ll be highlighting the most appealing aspects before each match with a mix of seriousness and humor. Please note, this isn’t meant to be an exhaustive overview. We continue here with the Paris Saint-Germain match this Saturday against Vendée Fontenay (National 3, the fifth tier of French football) at the Stade de la Beaujoire in the Round of 32 of the 2025-2026 Coupe de France (kick-off at 9 pm, PSG/Inter Milan broadcast on beIN SPORTS).
5 – A club to discover.
That’s the beauty of the Coupe de France: you get to see teams that are “in a league of their own.” This is an amateur club, with players, staff, and management that we don’t really know. It’s an opportunity to discover some players, perhaps, but also to get a sense of their mentality. Often filled with exciting moments in the competition. We’ll also be publishing our “Opponent Profile” article later today.
4 – Ousmane Dembélé, finally finding his form?
A key player in the 2024-2025 season, and even a Ballon d’Or winner, Ousmane Dembélé is experiencing a difficult start to the 2025-2026 season. Plagued by injuries and even illness, he is struggling to regain his rhythm and confidence. While he has been decisive on occasion, his performances are far from the impressive form he displayed at the beginning of 2025. Perhaps he will get some playing time tonight to work on his fitness and possibly rediscover his decisive touch.
3 – Time for the reserves!
After a very busy year and a first half of the season without any physical preparation, PSG is playing its fourth consecutive away game without a week off. The Parisian women are returning from Qatar, where they played the Intercontinental Cup on Wednesday, so we expect some rotation. This is an opportunity for some players to prove themselves, or even to see some debuts (David Boly?).
2 – The French Cup.
As mentioned earlier, it’s a great competition. It shouldn’t be underestimated. There’s a special atmosphere, with the divisions mixed and the knockout stage. Everything can change very quickly, and it’s final. There’s always a unique atmosphere.
1 – Last match of a crazy year.
2025 will be etched in PSG’s history, filled with wonderful memories. A first Champions League title—it’s hard to top that. Especially given the style of play. Let’s hope that style continues to cap off the year. The overall result will be excellent regardless. But elimination would be truly painful.
